Never seen another helpless CM like Kumaraswamy, says PM Modi in Karnataka

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chose Hubballi to launch the Bhartiya Janta Party’s (BJP) campaign for the Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka and PM Narendra Nodi’s speech on Sunday was exactly what it needed to kick-start their campaign.

Attacking the JDS-Congress coalition government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked what happened to the farm loan waiver that was promised to the state. “They said 43 lakh farmers would be benefitted but so far only 60,000 have benefitted. This is their truth,” said PM Modi.

“The government has been playing games forever and in reality, only 25-30 percent farmers have benefitted so far,” he added. The PM said that it was for this reason that he brought the income support scheme in the budget which will benefit 90 per cent of the farmers and added that those with less than 5 acres of land will get Rs 6,000 annually in three installments.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched an attack on the Karnataka CM H D Kumaraswamy and said, “Your chief minister is the most helpless CM I have ever seen and there are no doubts about who runs the government in the state.”

Calling for the removal of this “majboor” government, PM Modi said, “A model in which the chief minister cries and decisions are taken elsewhere. This is what they want for the country.”

The BJP also chose north Karnataka for the PM’s first campaign in the state as it has been a bastion for the party for almost three decades.

The party believes Modi’s rally will help galvanize the cadre and also bring all the leaders together to take on the coalition government. In fact, the Dharwad Lok Sabha seat has been a BJP stronghold for more than three decades and sitting Member of Parliament (MP) Pralhad Joshi has won here thrice and is looking forward to a fourth victory.
