J&K policeman abducted by suspected militants in Pulwama district

A policeman has been abducted by suspected militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Tral village located in Pulwama district on Saturday.

Mudasir Ahmad, a Special Police Officer, was working as a cook for the police department. His family has alleged that Ahmad, who went missing from his home, was abducted by militants.

Meanwhile, the police has is trying to confirm the details. An investigation has been initiated in the matter.

There have been several such reports of abduction in the last couple of months from the Valley. On July 20, a trainee police constable named Mohammad Saleem Shah was also abducted by militants from his home in Kulgam. Shah was undergoing a training in Kathua.

Earlier this month, policeman Javaid Dar was abducted by suspected militants from Shopian district. He was found dead in Kulgam the next day on July 6.

Before that, Indian Army soldier Aurangzeb, who lived in Kashmir’s Poonch district, was abducted by militants in Pulwama in broad daylight from a civilian vehicle while he was going to his hometown on leave. His bullet-ridden body was found at Gusoo Pulwama on June 14.
