After two demoralising defeats at Edgbaston and Lord’s, India got their act together on Day 1 of the third Test at Trent Bridge on Saturday. Batting first openers Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul gave India a good start but Chris Waokes struck thrice to leave India reeling at 82/3 at Lunch. Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane added 159 for the fourth wicket. Kohli was unlucky not to get his century, getting out for 97 to leg spinner Adil Rashid. James Anderson removed Hardik Pandya on the last ball of the day to leave India 307/6 at stumps. Debutant Rishabh Pant is batting on 22 with Ravichandran Ashwin set to join him.
